VMware kicks off new vSphere beta test

VMware is looking for people to participate in the beta testing a new version of vSphere.

An expression of interest page appeared and also asked "vExperts" VMware Community anointed to register.

Just what is in the beta is not disclosed, but the testers ask VMware to go fast. Everyone used to test hardware practical need for quick setup and will be asked for feedback within a month. Testers can also expect a lot of attention of VMware, who wants to know how his new creation works.

VMware vSphere once promised major versions every two years, but vSphere 6.0 has changed this year. The company since vSphere admitted that his priority is long-term, since it is not considered a long-term source of growth. The company also said it vSphere vCloud be developed for air, as well as its large cloud and stressed the implementation of vSphere like any other.

Exactly what these features are under the hood is an enigma as VMware keeps these things very close to his chest. It was also decided not to make an attempt to vCloud a great competitor of the stature of Azure and Amazon Web Services, which means fewer new features, but not necessarily the rule in the cloud as a source of continuous improvement vSphere.

By one estimate, virtualization offices El Reg think this is a beta for a minor update rather than a full new version of vSphere. More features hybrid clouds are expected, as several hooks for hyper-converged systems. VMware scale remains something to admire, so hopefully machines and larger virtual machines with greater ability to take into account modern day increasingly powerful servers.

We also know that the next version of vSphere is already advanced enough to run the infrastructure at VMworld Europe in October. And we know that Microsoft is going strong with Azure Pila.

By one estimate, so we expect an announcement of Q2, to keep the front and center conversation VMware hybrid cloud before Microsoft starts making more noise, leaving somehting brighter and more interesting to reveal at VMworld United States late August
