VMware CTO Ben Fathi Departs As EMC Federation Executive Exodus Continues:
Ben Fathi, VMware chief technology officer resigned after a three and a half year career at the company, CRN has learned.
Fathi joined VMware in 2012 and was named CTO of VMware in January 2014. He confirmed his departure in an email to CRN Sunday afternoon.
CRN Fathi said he is "talking to some companies," but has not decided where he was going next. His departure comes less than two weeks from the start of the annual customer conference VMware VMworld in San Francisco, which runs from August 31 to September 2.
"Ben Fathi VMware has decided to stop. We thank Ben for his considerable contributions to VMware during his time here and Ben wish him well in his next endeavor," said a spokesman for VMware in an email.
