VMware beta testing database-as-a-service based on SQL Server

VMware is a beta test database-as-a-service offering running SQL Server 2008 and 2012 R2.
VMware Documents seen by the registry Suggest the new service will be called "Air vCloud SQL" and will test and dev INITIALLY target scenarios, But Also offer a hot failover option for Those looking for a disaster recovery option for Their on-premises databases data.
Virtzilla Also think the service will be reliable to handle non-critical workloads, but in time grow to manage production applications.
Already it is possible to run SQL Server on VMware vCloud service Air, but self-provisioning mode. Seems now test the VMware as-a-Service Full capers to add to ITS cloud service catalog.
